Hello again to our wonderful website visitors!

As the months of 2023 fly by, we wanted to take some time to pause and focus on some of our wonderful new publications.

We’re really proud of every book that we produce within our Quacks Books division. Over the years there has been a wonderful range – from poetry to cooking books to children’s stories, to travelling memoirs.

The dedicated team offer a bespoke service and have a genuine love of the process. We love seeing an author’s reaction when they receive the first ever hardcopy of their book – nothing beats it!

Today we would like to celebrate two new publications.

The first book we would like to mention is To style or not to style? That is the question. A Story of Book. Written by Michael Sessions.

This story of the book starts with the Phoenicians who formed a 22-letter alphabet, it discusses how to design your book from your script giving many examples from York’s book heritage since 1509/10 and Quacks Books since 1703. Baskerville, Chagall, Locke, the Duke of Marlborough, Laurence Sterne are discussed.

We’re very proud of this publication and are so pleased that we can now share it with you all. If you would be interested in a copy, please feel free to call 01904 635967 or email design@quacks.info. The cost is £12.99 ( plus P & P ).

The second book we would like to focus on is a new book from the author Stephen Sayers. It is titled A Friendly Word.

This book is aimed at children to help them understand Quakerism. Swea Sayers provides the beautiful illustrations that bring this book to life. It tackles complex ideas but explores them so sensitively. Helen Todd, the Head Teacher at Bootham Junior School, York, wrote ‘This is the perfect introduction to Quakerism for young people.’

Once again, if you would be interested in a copy, please feel free to call 01904 635967 or email design@quacks.info. The cost is £9.75 ( plus P & P ).

If you have written a book ( or know somebody who has! ) please do get in touch. We’d love to help you turn that script into a book that you can pass through the generations.
