A Boy’s Experience of Orphanage Life

By George Henry Parkinson

Homeless and alone, Ivy placed her two sons into an orphanage so that at least they would have a roof over their heads. But, unbeknownst to Ivy, her two sons’ orphanage experiences would damage their mental development and nascent personalities through the many corporal punishments and sheer mental anguish they would endure. But George, Ivy’s eldest son, kept the flame on the candle of hope burning deep within his subconscious mind that his mother would keep her promise that one day the family would be together again.
